Johnny Hunt is a Philanthropist
Sometime ago, 15 friends gathered to celebrate a birthday. A BBQ ensued, and the result was the CHEO BBQ, our flagship fundraiser. From there we have expanded our charitable nature. These are annual events that thousands of people have enjoyed, and helped raise over $200,000 for CHEO!
Generally, a few friends think of these events around a couple of beverages, and from there we plan it and then just throw a party. All of our events are an absolute blast!

The CHEO BBQ.
17 years ago, in a small backyard in East Ottawa, 15 friends gathered to celebrate a birthday. It was the same weekend as the CHEO Telethon so a fishbowl (yes, a fishbowl) was quickly passed around to collect some coins. After calling their donation in, Mike Machargo and Johnny Hunt decided it was a great cause and a great BBQ so they vowed to make it an annual occasion.
The CHEO BBQ remians a pillar in the community and has become a fantastic event over its 17 year history. Congratulations to this years organizing committee!

The CHEO Spiel.
The CHEO Spiel is a combination of Scatch's New Year's curling bonspiel and Johnny Hunt's endeavor to raise money for the kids at CHEO. The two ideas became one 5 years ago, and the fundraiser has been a great success.
Now in our sixth year, and with a bright young committee on board, this little fundraiser will soon become a mainstay in the nation's capital and the coolest place to raise money!

The CHEO Open.
The 4th Annual CHEO OPEN will take place June 26th at Casselview Golf and Country Club. This golf tournament will sell out! Guests will enjoy a day of golf and prizes at Casselview, and Dinner and Banquet at CrossBar in Orleans.
Last years CHEO Open raised $10,500 for CHEO!

The CHEO 100.
The CHEO 100 is a 100 kilometre go-cart race with all proceeds donated to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Now in its second year, its a great premise and an all around fun time.
The CHEO 100 is scheduled for September, 2010. There will be go-karting, mini golf, a driving range, and plenty of stuff for the family.

THE CHEO DERBY
The CHEO Derby
The 2nd Annual CHEO Derby will be in February, 2011 at Petrie Island. This ice fishing derby will sell out, and guests will enjoy a day of ice fishing, prizes, music, hot chocolate.and a spaghetti dinner and banquet to warm up
As always, all proceeds will be donated to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
